Fiscal Year 2017-2018 Council Top Priorities

  • Complete initial design of 57/Lambert Road Interchange.
  • Determine appropriate reserve levels in Fixed Asset Replacement Fund (FARP.)
  • Develop a plan to upgrade as needed park facilities.
  • Determine future service needs based on added housing units.
  • Continue to pay down unfunded pension liability and manage the Other Post Employment Benefit (OPEB) liability.
  • Advocate for Worker's Compensation reform at the state level.
  • Support legislative advocacy for pension reform.
  • Determine next steps for Downtown / Central Brea with proactive planning.
  • Prepare to support the changing needs and interests of a historic increase in the senior population.
  • Determine priorities for spending any "extra" dollars available at the end of the fiscal year.
  • Discuss payback of $1.4 million toward the use of Fund 560 of the Solar Project.
