COVID-19 Community Information
The City of Brea values the safety and wellness of the entire community. Since the County of Orange declared a local health emergency on February 26, 2020, City officials have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak. This is a rapidly evolving situation; the City will continue to provide updates as we have new information to share. The City will also continue to work closely with its community partners, including the Orange County Health Care Agency and Brea Olinda Unified School District, to be prepared and best able to respond.
As a precaution to reduce community spread of COVID-19, all City facilities are closed for public access until further notice. The City of Brea remains focused on providing services to the community during this COVID-19 pandemic. Although facilities are currently closed for public access, staff remains onsite to assist with business matters by phone or email. To contact a City department, a reference guide is available to download.
At this time, we advise residents and businesses to follow all recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as local advisories from the California Department of Public Health and the Orange County Health Care Agency.
The County of Orange has established a COVID-19 Hotline for inquiries related to the pandemic: 1-833-426-6411
COVID-19 Case Counts
The Orange County Health Care Agency reports city-related data for COVID-19 cases daily. The information, along with other test figures, are available on their website, ochealthinfo.com/novelcoronavirus.
Because transmission is occurring throughout Orange County, it is important for all residents to continue practicing social-distancing, as directed by the Governor and the Orange County Health Officer, regardless of case count in a particular city. Doing so will help to reduce the spread of infection, ease the burden on our hospital and healthcare system, and protect those most vulnerable in our county.
