Posted on August 19, 2015 at 6:55 a.m. by johnb johnb

The Brea Police Department is currently accepting applications from those interested in attending our next Citizen Academy, starting in January 2016. The Citizen Academy is a one evening per week, twelve week program designed to give participants an up close look at law enforcement. Included in the program curriculum are classes in criminal law, patrol tactics, firearms, drunk driving enforcement, crime scene investigation, K9, SWAT, and other important aspects of a police officer’s duties. Classes are instructed by Brea police officers and civilian personnel who are experts in their particular discipline.

Citizen Academy also provides a great opportunity to get to know the women and men of the Brea Police Department, as well as the chance to meet other members of the Brea community. Please contact Officer Jason Celmer at (714) 990-7163 or e-mail to jasonc@cityofbrea.net for more information or to apply for a seat in the program.
