Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor DreamcoatRegistration is now for Brea’s Youth Theatre in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”

Join the Curtis Theatre and Stagelight Productions for the upcoming Winter production of Brea's Youth Theatre. For more than 25 years, the Brea’s Youth Theatre program has offered children, ages 5 through 18, a fun-filled way to build confidence, develop lasting friendships and work as a team, while appearing in fully-staged musicals.

Registration Opens: Friday, September 1, 2017 

Last Day of Registration:
 The deadline to register is Wednesday, October 25, 5 p.m. 

Parent Information Meeting: Monday, October 16, 7 p.m., Curtis Theatre. Learn about auditions, rehearsals and meet the production team!

Auditions & Rehearsals:

Pre-Audition Workshop:
Friday, October 27, 6 p.m. Children & Teens learn both the song & dance for auditions. The song lyrics will be distributed at the Parent Meeting. No monologues or pre-prepared songs. All participants will audition, using the material taught at the Pre-Audition Workshop. 
All who register will receive a role. Participants rehearse by age group, with most rehearsals lasting 1 to 2 hours. 

 Auditions will take place Saturday, Oct 28, 12 noon - 4 p.m. Rehearsals will take place each Friday, 6-10 p.m., Saturday, 12 noon - 4 p.m. beginning Friday, November 3 until Sunday, December 17, 2017, at the Brea Senior Center. Only leads and selected groups will be called on Sundays at 1 p.m. Starting Monday, December 18, 2017, rehearsals will take place on evenings and weekends at the Curtis Theatre, until the production’s opening date of January 11, 2017. A calendar will be available at the start of the program at www.stagelightproductions.com

Performance Dates: January 11, 2018 through January 28, 2018 on Thursday, 6:30 p.m., Friday at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at 2 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. & 6:30 p.m. at the Curtis Theatre. 

The deadline to register by mail, at the Brea Community Center or online, is Wednesday, October 25, 5 p.m. Registration fee is $155 for Brea Residents (those who live, work or go to school in Brea), and $170 for Non-Brea Residents. To register, log onto brearec.com, and look for activity # 6247

Wizard of OzAbout Brea's Youth Theatre

Brea’s Youth Theatre offers a memorable experience for the entire family, as parents are also encouraged to volunteer backstage. Productions for Brea’s Youth Theatre are scheduled, annually, in July and January.

Produced in partnership with Stagelight Family Productions. The City of Brea’s Youth Theatre Program, has brought the awe of theatre to children and their families for more than two decades. Through the art and practice of live theatre, children and teens perform as a team with seasoned actors and educators in the community to bring some of Broadway’s most notable musicals to a live audience. Throughout the rehearsal process, children and teens learn the value of teamwork, while building confidence and lasting friendships. Truly an experience for the entire family, each production brings the opportunity for parents to contribute their own talents through a variety of volunteer projects that support the fun onstage.
