The goal of Brea’s Art in Public Places Program is to provide permanent outdoor artwork throughout the City for all to enjoy. The success of the Program is due to public-private cooperation between the City, artists, and developers. The collection includes outdoor sculptures by local, national, and international artists on display throughout the City.

Art in Public Places Catalogue
Beginning in 1975, Brea’s renowned Art in Public Places program has become a model for other cities. Developers who build new projects valued over $1.5 million are required to integrate sculpture as part of their project. All sculptures go through a formal approval process and are placed at prominent locations where they can be enjoyed by the public.
